Between 1870 and 1940, uranium or annealed glass was produced on a fairly large scale. Since uranium glass is rarely produced today, it is a popular collector's item. Uranium was usually added in small amounts so that the green or yellow glass fluoresces when illuminated under ultraviolet light. It was mainly used in lamps, bowls, wine glasses, ... including the glassworks Leerdam, doyen glass and Val Saint Lambert.
