The artist Alexander Bobkin (1952, Novokuznetsk) was born in Siberia and trained at the Yaroslavl Art Academy. Bobkin is a traveler who prefers to visit areas unknown to him. A number of museums have added paintings by Bobkin to their collections. These museums include: Museum of Modern Art Novokuznetsk; Kemerovo Regional Art Museum and the State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow. After traveling around for a long time, Bobkin settled in the Netherlands in 1990. His studio is located in the Krayenhoff Barracks in Nijmegen.
