Alexander van Noort, born September 10, 1953 in Haarlem, came in touch with the arts in his early childhood through his father A.C. van Noort 1914-2003 known painter of beaches, spheres and cityscapes. The painting is painted in the style of The Hague School or as impressionist work in the French line.

From 1973 to 1978 he attended the academy for visual arts Education Teacher MO A-B degree. Worked from 1979 to 1993 as part-timer teacher drawing at the Jan van Scorel College and Mendel College in Haarlem.
Since 1993 he has worked as an independent artist in Haarlem and Ommen. Exhibited regularly in various museums and galleries also together with his father. His subjects range from fragments of classical architecture to car wrecks. Transience is an important theme here.

He prefers to paint and photograph fragments of classical architecture. The many study trips to France Italy and Greece gave him a lot of photographic material: independent photography and preliminary studies for paintings.
