The 9 glasses are in perfect condition. clear, brilliant and sonorous. - Crystal is as strong as glass. The colored crystal is called "doubled crystal", and is entirely hand-crafted for magical sparkle and finishing touches that are a must in tableware. - The glasses are Made in France, made in Lorraine, and date from the 1970s. L'Artisan du Cristal has kept alive a tradition and know-how dating back to the 18th century. Roemer's world-renowned service is a benchmark for lovers of fine dining. A little history:If you're a connoisseur of the art of the table, you'll know that these glasses are known the world over. They're the famous Roemer: Rhine wine glasses. The first examples were made by Karl Fabergé for Tsar Nicholas II for the wines of Alsace, where there are 6 main grape varieties, each color representing a grape variety. That's why you'll always find them in 6-color trimmings. These lined crystal glasses, entirely hand-crafted, are made of white crystal, then covered with a layer of colored crystal. The primary layer of transparent crystal is removed when the glass is cut, to enhance the contrast between the deep colors and the magical sparkle of the crystal.
