Ernst Möckl aluminum chair with wooden armrests and back and seat cushions covered with green Leather . The aluminum parts are connected with Chrome knee sleeves.
Functionalism in the further development of the explicit Bauhaus reincarnation.
Like other successful designers of his time (Charles Eames, Arne Jacobsen, Dieter Rams and many more), Moeckl sought harmony between reduced, clear forms and high-quality, timeless materials.
It is no coincidence and an expression of design and time that Moeckl, like Charles Eames, uses the same elements, Aluminum, Chrome and Leather , in the aluminum chairs he produces to this day.
The Cubist Design is based on designs like Le Corbusier with his LC1 chair, with strong references to the Bauhaus .
The effect of these pieces is Modern and timeless.
The chair forms the basis of an entire design line that Ernst Moeckl designed in the early 1960s for the manufacturer Lübke .
In the so-called construction group, chairs, Armchairs, Tables and reception furniture were modular.
For this chair, Moeckl eventually received the IF Design Award in 1968.
The structure is simple but of high quality.
The oval Aluminum tubes are connected with chromed connectors and provide enormous stability and steadiness.
The seats and backrests were covered with high-quality, thick cowhide leather. The Leather is lightly grained, sits very well in the hand and has a subtle sheen.
Solid precious wood in a dark reddish hue was used for the armrests.
It is probably rosewood. Because it is a strongly grained Wood with a very characteristic pattern,
tone and color vary from chair to chair. This creates an individual effect in the ensemble. You can clearly see that these are individual pieces of high quality. Each chair has its own character,
but fits harmoniously into the group.
Fits perfectly with originals by Cassina, Vitra, Classicon, Knoll.
The armrests lie very comfortably in the hand and the oiled Wood feels natural and high quality, unlike varnished surfaces.
The condition of the chairs is excellent for their age. You can safely fit them into a modern, impeccably maintained environment.
Of course, the Leather acquires a patina over time, which increases the value of the pieces and makes them vibrant.
Of course, the Leather is completely intact, neither porous nor cracked and not faded.
The Aluminum looks almost like new. Very few traces of time.
