Product description
Sculptural design by the Italian-American sculptor and designer Harry Bertoia from 1956. The construction made of welded wire rod was revolutionary at the time and brought the artist international attention. Bertoia's wire chairs are now icons of Mid-Century design.
The chairs look light and airy and are still stable and comfortable. The art historian Brian Lutz commented on Bertoia's work as follows: "Bertoia's paintings were better than his sculptures. And his sculptures were better than his furniture. And his furniture was absolutely brilliant".
