Möbelfabrik helped to cement her reputation as one of the most important Danish designers of the 20th century. Her designs are highly sought after today and are considered classics of modern furniture design. Jalk was strongly influenced by the functionality and minimalist aesthetics of Scandinavian design and her work is characterized by clean lines, organic shapes and the innovative use of materials. In addition to Glostrup, Jalk also designed various pieces of furniture for other manufacturers such as Poul Jeppesen and Fritz Hansen.
The Glostrup furniture factory was a Danish furniture manufacturer that was particularly well known in the middle of the 20th century. It was founded in 1929 in Glostrup, a town near Copenhagen. The factory specialized in the production of high-quality furniture, especially in the 1950s and 1960s, a heyday of Danish design.
The six teak dining chairs on offer are in excellent condition. Only one chair has a small blemish on the gray seat cover. All chairs have the original Glostrup sticker on the underside. Otherwise, there is minimal wear to the legs. Two of the six chairs have armrests.
