Amazing vintage set of "Villabianca" armchairs in original black leather. Designed by Vico Magistretti for CASSINA in 1985. This saddle-beef leather chair is a masterpiece of complexity and symbolizes the company's talent to perfectly combine craftsmanship. A modern chair with a cultural heritage, expression of the creative genius of Vico Magistretti who designed it in 1985. Villabianca is an elegant chair made of solid wood and cowhide, in which design translates into practical simplicity. The Villabianca chair has a solid wood structure with cylindrical legs and curved armrests, connected to a self-supporting seat of cowhide, the typical expression of the proven experience of the Cassina joinery and saddlery company. Condition: Very good vintage condition with normal signs of use for their age. In short a must have for the true design art lover Vico Magistretti was born in Milan in 1920. After graduating in architecture in 1945, he joined his father's studio and worked on various design and architectural projects. He soon gained recognition in the design world and won the Grand Prix at the VIII Triennale in 1948. This was the first of many awards: more than forty in all! He taught at numerous design schools and lectured around the world, including in Milan, New York, Paris and London. Since 1983, he has been an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art. Many of the lamps and objects he designed during his lifetime can be found in the permanent collections of major museums and have also been the subject of exhibitions.
