Nice set of the iconic Cab 413 dining chairs in burgundy leather. Extremely comfortable and beautiful armchairs! Matching set from the first owner.
Designed by Mario Bellini for CASSINA.
The CAB chairs were designed by Mario Bellini in 1979. Conceptually new was the way Bellini uses leather to cover the whole chair in one monochrome layer. The red to brown leather is stitched at the sides in a precise manner and spans dynamically over the whole chair. A nice detail is how the back elegantly runs over into the armrests, developing in a delicate curved shape at both ends.
The Cab chair was the first-ever chair to feature a free-standing leather structure, inspired by how our skin fits over our skeleton. The pieces are sewn together only when their outer edges have been trimmed to ensure a perfect fit. Once assembled, the cover is attached to the chair’s steel skeleton and held in place by means of a zipper fastening, as in a bespoke tailored garment. Today this model adapts and expands to meet contemporary needs.
Condition :
A good & correct vintage condition without damage or repairs. Normal signs of use for their age.
The leather shows a patina that matches the age and wear of the chairs.
