Product description
The ERCO spotlight "TM Spot" 1974 designed by Dieter Witte is a die-cast aluminum spotlight that looked shockingly different from what made up the ERCO product range at the end of the 1960s. Spotlights with different fittings, with cooling fins to dissipate heat, are more reminiscent of an engine block than a luminaire. However, new functions of the lighting instruments justify new shapes.
The spotlight can be rotated 360° and tilted 90°. Two light gray levers on the sides are used to lock it in place. The two brackets for holding various accessories such as color filters, apertures, etc. are also attached to the sides with two screws each. The brackets can be infinitely adjusted by loosening the retaining screws.

Dieter Witte Industrial designer 1937 - 2008
Witte had barely finished his studies (Werkkunstschule Hannover) when he began designing for the lighting industry. Dieter Witte trained as an industrial designer and had just become self-employed. He succeeds in developing function-oriented products and transforming them into appropriate forms that are needed for precisely defined tasks. After his beginnings at Staff (now Zumtobel), Dieter Witte moved to ERCO in 1968. Here he designed the first German die-cast aluminum spotlights. The "TM Spot", with its attachment lenses and many different functions, was the last product created for ERCO in 1974. It was an extremely rare long-seller for such a technical field as luminaire production. Dieter Witte was one of the most important lighting designers in Germany. In cooperation with his wife, he designed for Staff, Erco and Osram, among others. His products are sold by the millions, but anyone searching for information about him on the Internet will find little: The designer Dieter Witte is practically unknown there and also in the relevant design encyclopedias. Yet in almost 50 years of work, he has created products ranging from plastic sledges to running lights, which are still sold today as originals or further developments. His name is primarily associated with the design of the first German die-cast aluminum spotlights. (Source: www.sub-sonic.de)
The spotlights are in excellent condition for their age. No damage, only very minor signs of use in the form of tiny scratches. Some of the locking screws on the accessory brackets have slight flash rust.
