These B43 and S43 tubular cantilever chairs were designed by Mart Stam. This is an early version with plywood seat and back. The chairs date from before 1940 and were made by Luterma. Under the seat of 2 chairs the stamp of "Luterma" and "Made in Estonia" is still readable (see photo). The Estonian firm Luterma (A.M.Luther Mechanical Woodwork Company, 1877 - 1940) was an important producer of high quality plywood in the late 19th/early 20th century. The chairs are in good vintage condition. The base of two chairs has some corrosion on the chrome (see last photo).
