A nice selected set of 4 different Thonet and other "bentwood" chairs. Brand labels of Thonet, Kohn and Fischel among others, all well-known products of "bentwood" chairs. Construction on all four chairs excellent, solid and stable. Obviously some minor color differences between the chairs. All chairs have a good seat height of about 47 cm. The chairs are waxed and ready to use. Michael Thonet is the inventor of the so-called "bentwood"; the steamed beech wood that could be bent using molds, making it possible for the first time to design furniture with the bent shapes. This happened as early as 1859. The chairs are on display in Groningen. You are welcome to drop by. Or you can have the chairs delivered via Whoppah.
