1953 was a productive year for entrepreneurial furniture designer and furniture maker Helge Sibast, who spent that year designing three of his most iconic designs Sibast No 7, No 8 and No 9.
Sibast No 9 is a lightweight dining chair with an unfailing sense of style. The chair has an optically floating seat and front legs that slope slightly inward - a design detail that gives the chair a sleek, dynamic style when viewed from the front.
From the side, the inverted Y-shaped frame stands out, accentuating the enveloping backrest that reinforces the chair's unique identity.
The model that now saw the light of day more than 70 years ago has been out of production for more than 50 years and has been back in production since 2023 as part of a special anniversary collection .

This set of 4 original vintage chairs was purchased in January 2024 in the Dutch town of Oss.
The condition was deplorable, our restorers took up the challenge to restore the set to its full glory.
These chairs, original old copies, are very rare due to their construction which is very delicate at some points. Therefore, very few "survivors" are known from this series.
To make these chairs last for decades again, they have been completely restored, every joint has been checked, the wood has been treated and the seats have new padding and fabric.
A first class furniture fabric in the color white with a beautiful pattern was chosen as upholstery.
This set forms a unique combination of comfort, style and class and has a unique and original patina.
