Beautiful vintage chair set in original condition, designed by Cor Alons for C. Den Boer Gouda. The bid price is for the set of 4. Designer: Cor Alons Brand: C. Den Boer Gouda Material: Birch plywood with vanilla skai upholstery. Condition: original condition; good and sturdy, but they obviously come with signs of use accordingly to age. Photos are part of the description. Width: 43 cm Depth: 55 cm Height: 85 cm Seat height: 47 cm Cornelius Louis (Cor) Alons 1892-1967, was a Dutch interior designer for the firm H. Pander and son, working under Hendrik Wouda. He was also an interior designer and industrial designer. From 1948, he designed for C. den Boer Gouda. Alons belonged to the first generation of interior designers, also designed utilitarian pottery and was a teacher of furniture construction and interior art at the Academy in The Hague. 2 well-known students of his are Bas Van Pelt and Rob Parry. He was also a supporter of functionalism and applied it in his furniture and pottery. By now there is a whole oeuvre to his name.
