The "Plia" is a folding chair by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli. This folding chair is a design icon of the 1960s: "The sign of a new era in which plastic takes center stage. The Plia chair was introduced with this description in 1967 at the Fiera del Mobile in Milan. Giancarlo Piretti, the designer of the Plia chair, is praised for his idea of a folding chair with "three-disc hinge. By now, the Plia has pretty much achieved cult status and is made of chromed metal and polypropylene. Democratic Design. Italian Design. This set consists of 4 folding chairs (smoked version).
