Set of 2 antique, Windsor arm chairs, one High Back and one Low Back chair. This type of chairs originated in England in the late 17th century, was traditionally produced in the area around High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, known for chair making. These practical and attractive pieces of furniture were initially used in homes, inns and staff quarters of the larger (country) houses, but later became common in institutions. They are highly decorative pieces of furniture that continue to inspire contemporary designers. Solid wood, solid construction with molded seat, hooped backrest with center leaf and support bars, comfortable armrests and a sturdy center rung between the legs.
