Product description
2 lovely sitting leather armchairs Korium KM2/ 1 by Tito Angoli for Matteo Grassi '80s (both marked!). Color: Rosso Bulgaro. Trade prices these armchairs are selling for are around €3500, see last photo. Matteograssi's Korium Armchair collection shows an angular design that grows into a wavy leather back and armrests. Beautifully sturdy coach skin surrounds the steel frame, while the cushions are covered in beautifully soft leather (so two types of leather). Tito Agnoli was born into an Italian family in Lima, Peru in 1931 and moved to Italy in the years immediately following World War II. After graduating in 1959, he was an assistant to Gio Ponti and Carlo De Darli, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in industrial design of both furniture and lighting. He went on to work with some of the most famous furniture companies in the world, including Arflex, Oluce, Cinova, Lema, Molteni, Pierantonio Bonacina, Matteo Grassi, Poltrona Frau, Schiffini and Ycami. His work was recognized worldwide and he was nominated for two "Compasso d'Oro" awards and a gold medal at the 1986 Chicago Neocon. Pieces of his design are held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York.
Both armchairs are in good condition. Considering their age and having been completely wrapped in leather, the armchairs have the usual signs of use in the leather, which gives them charm and vibrancy.
The photos are part of the description, please look at the photos carefully. These indicate the condition of the leather.
Constructively, the armchairs are in very good condition, no tears or holes anywhere, just aged leather (see photos).
