Steen Østergaard was born in Denmark in 1935. He began his training as a furniture architect in Copenhagen in 1957, which he completed very successfully. Steen Østergaard has won many prizes, e.g. in 1966 he was chosen as "the DESIGNER" of "Furniture for the Future". From 1962 to 1966 he worked for "Finn Juhl" and from 1970 to 1975 for "Poul Cadovius". At the same time he continued to have his own design studio from 1966. Steen Østergaard combines aesthetic designs with the human anatomy in such a way that his designs are always ergonomic and comfortable to sit on.The chrome plating on the lower leg of one of the chairs is slightly damaged. The leather shows scratches and wear due to age, giving it a great patina.
