The SZ 01 armchair with a seat made of pulp cane, was designed by Martin Visser in 1960. In its seemingly simple design, Visser's handwriting is unmistakable. The minimalist frame of the chair leaves plenty of room for the special craftsmanship of weaving pulp cane. The design is very basic and effortlessly stands the test of time, which is literally evidenced by the long history of this armchair. The design shows functionalism and is authentically made from natural materials.
These beautiful pit cane chairs have been in our family for at least 60 years. The chairs have been used daily and have some minor signs of use here and there. Also, the cane at the top of both chairs is a very little loose. But otherwise not disturbing or noticeable.
