This pair of desk or wall lamps was designed by Ernest Igl. In Poland, the design was used for the so-called Little Dog lamp model 1318, made by the company Capital Metal Works No. 2 in Warsaw. It was also sold by Hillebrand. It appears in catalogs from 1958 and 1960.
Ernest Igl was born on Feb. 6, 1920, as Ernest Hofmann in Prague, Czech Republic. Igl graduated from the academy in Karlsbad in 1938 and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich.
After World War II, he worked as a graphic artist in Munich. He enjoyed a great reputation as one of the first illustrators with major textbook publishers and distinguished himself as an international industrial designer. He was a graphic artist, painter, set designer and sculptor. His modern designs are coveted by collectors.
Lamps are made of painted metal housings with V-shaped painted metal legs and painted perforated sheet metal lampshades, adjustable.
Operation is via a push switch on the new 2-meter cable.
Condition is good to very good, and ready to use immediately. It fits an E14 bulb and all paint is original and there is no color difference between the 2 bulbs
Flexible use, designed to be placed on a table or hung on the wall.
