2 x vintage Assenburg tables, industrial work tables Table top type Mezzo, 80 x 80 x 1.2 cm (length x width x thickness), made of HPL. Height: from 62 cm to 80 cm, and from 80 to 102 cm per notch (see photo 13). Height is adjustable in the green, steel legs (original color) with an Allen key so that a screw thread with a catch falls into pre-set notches. The location of this pallet can be used in 3 different places for strength. Black feet at the bottom can be rotated and adjusted in height so that the table can always be level (there are black protective stickers underneath). Very light gray (original color), comes closest to 'Telegrau 04 - RAL 7047' see photo 7. Light gray apparently adapts to the ambient color, which is a plus of grays. But for the photos I used different backgrounds (taken for my yellow wall and for a white door) so that the difference in reflection is visible. Can be used as a small desk, large side table, plant table, small work table. They are sturdy, but the sloping edge in the table edge makes them appear light and slim. After using the tables at home, I used them as packing and tensioning tables in my studio, but I switched to sit/stand tables with cranks and no longer have room for them in my house. The signs of wear are consistent with function and age. They also add charm to the tables. You hardly come across these Assenburg tables. According to the sources I found, Assenburg bv was created from a merger in 1975 between Van Blerk - steel furniture manufacturer from Tilburg - with Asmeta (also steel furniture manufacturer) from Assendelft (some sources mention 1977). In 1977, Assenburg merged with ASPA under the name Samas, which went bankrupt in 2009. I don't know whether Assenburg still produced under its own name after the merger in 1977. If not, the tables are from 1975 - 1977. Those in the know may be able to discern a year from the company sticker (1986? 1988?).There are small cuts visible on the sides of the light gray table top, and light scratches on the table top. The second table (from photo 20) also has a few otherwise shiny spots. I have photographed this as best I could. You only see the scratches and glitches on top from 1 angle. Almost all legs have paint damage.
