Product description
Very rare set of chairs by one of Artifort 's top designers Geoffrey Harcourt (along with Pierre Paulin) in a stunning lavender blue color with satin velvet upholstery in excellent condition. Notice the distinctive split wood 3-leg base. There's surprisingly little documentation to be found about these chairs; they were supposedly meant to be manufactured with a polystyrene base; these are executed in solid lacquered wood. The design dates from 1970 and they were probably only manufactured from 1971 until 1974. Both chairs are tagged underneath with the manufacturers name and a series of numbers which may significate the date of manufacturing: one says 27 974, the other says 30 974. In case interested, there's also a stool of this model available, in another color though. These chairs are to be used as side chairs or just as 2 pieces of applied art.
