2 Arnold Madsen chairs from the company Bovenkamp, 60s,
Vintage / Scandinavian / mid-century design.
These comfortable vintage lounge armchairs were designed by Danes Arnold Madsen & Henry Schubell ( in 1960) and made by the firm Bovenkamp in the Netherlands. Arnold Madsen was contracted by Bovenkamp in the late 1950s. He designed and helped Bovenkamp to integrate Danish influences and craftsmanship into their furniture manufacturing.
This is a so-called Men's and Women's model (a high and low model).
The chairs were purchased in 1964.
It is a beautiful timeless design: The chair has an oak frame and teak armrests. The armrests continue behind the backrest. The chair has been reupholstered (year unknown); the backs of the chair are of a blue patterned fabric and the seat cushions are of a plain blue fabric. The high chair also has an upholstered head cushion.
