From a fragment of shell, broken and smoothed by the waves, Patricia Urquiola has designed a collection of seating for the home and public spaces. The Scandinavian influence, evoked by the name, refers to Arne Jacobsen and the presence of an elongated cup, a metaphor for the coves of the northern coast. As in a natural cycle, the armchair frame, regenerated by time and water, becomes an armchair and then another stool. The broken form is transformed from an abstract concept into a design object: soft lines that support and welcome, highlighted by the precision of the sight seams in continuous harmony with the essential nature of the structure. Shells in cold-injected flame-retardant foam with internal structure in fabric- or leather-covered steel.
