Product description
We offer for sale Two chairs designed by Charles Eames & Eero Saarinen in 1940. Model Organic chair, produced by Vitra.
They are two upholstery projects which I offer for sale.
From the other chair, the hopsak fabric has already been removed. Your chance to acquire two design chairs and upholster them to your own taste.
New the chairs were almost 2300,- each.
I know they are little projects so they do not have to go for the high price, but nonsense offers are not appreciated.
Several versions of the Organic Chair, a small, comfortable reading chair, were developed for the design competition "Organic Design in Home Furnishings," at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, in 1940. The styling of this design was ahead of its time. However, because no suitable production techniques were known at the time, the armchair was not put into production. Only in 1950 did it become possible to produce and market organically shaped seat shells, such as Charles & Ray Eames' famous Plastic Chair or Eero Saarinen's Tulip Chair, in large numbers.
Condition: Construction of the chairs are good. Nice wooden legs, good solid plastic shell. Upholstery on the other hand is in need of replacement.
