The iconicCassina Cab 413 Chair With Armrest is a 1979 design by Mario Bellini who embraces Cassina's superior craft skills and attention to detail. Inspired by how our skin fits around our skeleton, the Cab 413 Chair is the very first chair with a free-standing, leather structure. An extension of the body, the chair has an appearance that blends beautifully into the space, but is not inconspicuous. The padded seat, back and armrests give the chair a soft character and invite you to spend hours in it during a long evening of dining. The skeleton of the Cab 413 Chair With Armrest is made of beech plywood veneered with boards of natural cherry, natural oak or black stained oak. The comfortable seat and back feature polyurethane foam. The entire design, including the legs, are upholstered in luxurious cowhide leather. The upholstery consists of 22 pieces of cowhide which are processed by hand one by one and then sewn into one piece. The upholstery is then attached to the skeleton and closed with a visible zipper reminiscent of a custom-made garment.
