Wall sculpture of a branch with gilded leaves, gold and copper colored with beautiful patina. Design and execution William Bowie (signed). USA, circa 1970. William Bowie was based in New York City from 1954 to 1994. A contemporary of Harry Bertoia, Curtis Jeré and William and Bruce Friedle, Bowie can be considered one of the founding fathers of the American metal sculpture genre of the middle of the last century (midcentury). He belongs to the brutalist movement of the time.
