Product description
The Model 4950 tray table, designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller, shows simplicity at its best. This 2002 Vitra Design reissue, designed in 1948-49 (thanks to a marketing agreement with Herman Miller), is now extremely rare. This version was the first production. This piece has an elegant and sophisticated design and features a cantilevered molded black plywood tray top, making it extremely versatile. Its adjustable height (48-79cm) allows it to function effectively in a variety of rooms throughout the home. Originally designed in 1948-49, this iconic piece is part of the Vitra Design Museum Collection and the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Herman Miller Inc. is an American company that produces office furniture, equipment and home furnishings, best known for its iconic Eames Lounge Chair from the mid-1950s, also designed by Nelson. As Director of Design at Herman Miller from 1947-72, George Nelson created numerous innovative pieces of furniture, which became the company's most successful period.
