This iconic floor lamp offers comfortable, glare-free light based on the principle of Poul Henningen's reflective three-cap system (screen ratio of about 3:2:1), which directs most of the light downward. It shines sideways and on itself, producing soft radiation from the core. This edition is white with red and black accents. The red screen offers a warm, ambient light and the white screen provides an elegant, fresh light. The frame is made of high-gloss chromed steel and extends into a black base made of ABS. Poul Henningsen, or PH, was a Danish architect and designer. The PH-80 lamp and the PH Artichoke are two design examples best known for their inventive construction and diffused light. His lamps were manufactured by Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, with whom Henningsen would build a lifelong working relationship.
