Vintage sculptural ceramic vase in the typical style of Vallauris, a small town in the South of France that has a long history of ceramics making and experienced a revival in the 1950s, 60s and 70s through the work of major ceramics artists like Picasso, Roger Capron, Robert Picault, and many others. This eye-catching piece is a modernist take on the amphora with its two asymmetric handles and its black and seafoam colored lava glaze with a red glossy accent. Although it is unmarked at the bottom, it still has the original stickers in French that reads "Ceramique d'Art Fait Main". Very good vintage condition.
