Product description
The wall lamps from the Staff brand from West Germany, manufactured in the 1970s, are iconic examples of high-quality Mid - Century design. The double-ball models are particularly eye-catching and sought-after. The lamps consist of two semi-gilded glass globes, which not only provide warm light distribution but also create an elegant, luxurious look. The base and holder are often made of brass or chrome-plated metal, reflecting the choice of materials typical of the period. Design features: Semi-gilded glass globes: This technique creates a fascinating interplay of light and reflection. Two-light version: Ideal for creating symmetrical and soft light in a room. Combination of glass and metal: Typical of the futuristic and minimalist design of the 1970s. Marking: Often marked with "Staff" and "Made in Germany", which confirms the origin and quality. Designer The designer of these lamps is not clearly documented. However, in the 1970s, the Staff brand worked with renowned designers such as Motoko Ishii, who was known for her modern lighting concepts. It is conceivable that similar designs originated from this collaboration. Staff was known for its innovative lighting technology and elegant design, which often focused on minimalist and timeless forms. Today, these lamps are coveted collector's items and a highlight for lovers of vintage interiors.
The lamps are in very good condition. They were wall-mounted until recently and were therefore only exposed to indoor dust. The brass wall connections are somewhat aged and have slight stains and paint residue.
Some of the glass globes themselves have small black spots. Mostly on one of the two globes. Most likely the remains of flies.
