Although he did not enjoy the same renown as his contemporaries, Vodder particularly influenced Scandinavian design in the 20th century. His furniture is characterized by simplicity, timelessness and color. They are usually made from natural materials such as teak or rosewood. In the 1960s, he designed several iconic sideboards. Arne Vodder was born in Denmark in 1926. While still a young designer, he made the acquaintance of the famous Finn Juhl, who was to have a strong influence on Vodder's work. Over the course of his career, he worked for a number of major manufacturers, including Fritz Hansen, France & Son, Cado, Ivan Schlechter, Bovirke, Vamo and Slagelse. His furniture ranges (desks, tables, chairs, etc.) have met with great success in Europe and North America. The enfilades and desks designed by Arne Vodder are particularly beautiful and sought-after pieces.
