Sauze is renowned for his mastery of aluminum. The artist mainly designed lighting fixtures, such as the iconic "Cassiopé" suspension created in 1970 and a whole series of wall lamps and table lamps. However, we also owe him the "Isocèle" table (1970). Max Sauze was born in Algiers in 1933. He developed a passion for design at an early age, studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Algiers and then at the renowned Ecole Camondo in Paris. He then settled near Aix-en-Provence and began his career as an artist. He became interested in aluminum and worked with geometric shapes. This was the start of a whole series of lighting fixtures. By the end of the 1960s, Sauze was enjoying worldwide success! He took part in numerous trade shows and marketed his pieces in Europe. His success even crossed the Atlantic Ocean, with sales in the USA and Canada! His work has been the subject of several exhibitions in prestigious venues in Paris: the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Centre Pompidou, the Palais de la Découverte, etc.
