The designer's pieces are characterized by their simplicity, minimalism, elegance and high quality. The Siesta chair, designed in 1965, quickly became a design icon for its fascinating detail, harmony and robustness. Ingmar Relling was born in Norway in 1920. He studied architecture and design at the SKHS School in Oslo. He later joined the design firm Rastard & Relling AS. In 1950, he founded his own studio, then concentrated on furniture design from the 1960s onwards. He achieved international success in 1965 with the creation of the Siesta chair. He became one of the world's leading exponents of Scandinavian design. Even today, his pieces are must-haves for all design lovers.
