The duo gained international renown for their work on interior design and furniture in the 1950s and 1960s. Their work was influenced by the trends of Scandinavian modernism, characterized by clean lines, simple geometric forms and the use of natural materials. Rastad & Relling created furniture pieces for several Norwegian companies, including Gustav Bahus, Skaarup and Vatne Møbler. They have also designed interiors for numerous public and commercial buildings, such as hotels, airports and offices. Their best-known creations include the "Kronen" armchair and the "Bambi" chair, both designed for Gustav Bahus. The "Kronen" armchair, which means "Crown" in Norwegian, is a sculptural piece that reflects the simplicity of Scandinavian design. The "Bambi" chair, meanwhile, is an example of elegant, minimalist design, with a horn-shaped backrest. Rastad & Relling received numerous awards for their work, including the Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale in 1957 and the Lunning Prize in 1958. Their work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and is now exhibited in museums around the world.
