Petersen was known for his minimalist, functional style, which was inspired by the Scandinavian design tradition. He won numerous awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Red Dot award for product design. His best-known creations include the "Curve" chair, which was mass-produced by Danish furniture manufacturer Steens Furniture, and the Sony Trinitron TV range, for which he won an iF Design Award in 1978. Bernhard Petersen also taught industrial design at the Copenhagen College of Design for several years. His contribution to the design industry has been widely acclaimed, and his legacy continues to inspire designers today.
