Early in his career, Légeard worked as a furniture designer for Parisian furniture stores. In the 1930s, he began working for the French glass company Baccarat, where he designed vases, goblets and glasses. After the Second World War, Légeard worked for numerous French and international companies, including Air France, the Limoges porcelain company and the Steiner furniture company. He also designed interiors for hotels, restaurants and cruise ships. Légeard was known for his elegant, modern style, which was influenced by Art Deco and the Modernist movement. He won numerous awards for his work, including the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennale in 1954.
