Early in her career, Kjær worked for Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, where she was involved in the design of the SAS Royal Copenhagen hotel and its furniture, as well as the design of St. Catherine's College in Oxford, England. Over the years, Bodil Kjær has created furniture and architectural designs for many prestigious companies and institutions, including the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva, Brussels airport, the Danish central bank, as well as for companies such as Georg Jensen, Fritz Hansen and Eilersen. His creations are characterized by functionality, simplicity and elegance, with particular attention to detail and high-quality materials. Bodil Kjær has also written several books on design and architecture, including "Furniture Architecture: A Brief History" and "The Elements of Modern Architecture". She has received numerous awards and distinctions throughout her career, including the prestigious "Designer of the Year" prize awarded by the Danish Confederation of Industry in 1997. Today, she is considered one of the leading figures in Danish design.
