In 1952, Jensen began working for electronics company Bang & Olufsen, where he designed many iconic products, such as the Beolit 39 radio and the famous Beovision MX7000 television. He became Bang & Olufsen's first chief designer in 1965, a position he held until 1991. Jensen also worked for other companies, such as Swiss watch manufacturer Movado and German pen manufacturer Pelikan. He created minimalist, functional designs that marked his era and continue to influence designers today. In 1990, Jensen founded his own company, Jacob Jensen Design, which designed products for clients such as Jabra, GN Netcom and Timex. Jensen has won numerous awards throughout his career, including the Good Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.
