In the 1960s and 1970s, FRIDHAGEN designed products for Danish brand Bang & Olufsen, including the famous Beogram 4000 hi-fi system. He also worked for the Swedish brand Electrolux, where he designed household products such as vacuum cleaners and refrigerators. FRIDHAGEN received several awards for his design work, including the City of Stockholm's Culture Award in 1966 and the Swedish Design Award in 1983. Perhaps his most famous design is the "Jupiter" armchair, created for the Danish company Fritz Hansen in 1985. Bertil FRIDHAGEN's work is considered a classic example of Scandinavian design, characterized by a minimalist, functional style and great attention to materials and workmanship.
