Christensen began his design career at Bing & Grøndahl in 1945, after studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He worked for the company until his death in 1973, creating designs for a wide range of products, from tableware to ceramic figurines to tiles. Christensen's designs are characterized by their elegant simplicity and functionality. He has often used organic forms inspired by nature, as well as subtle, harmonious colors. He was also influenced by the movements of modernism and functionalism. In addition to his work at Bing & Grøndahl, Christensen also taught industrial design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1952. His work has been exhibited in many museums and galleries, and he has received numerous awards for his creations.
