Boyer began his design career working for furniture manufacturer Pierre Cardin in the late 1960s, where he designed futuristic furniture in metal and Plexiglas. He went on to set up his own company, Michel Boyer Créations, in 1978, producing high-end furniture for prestigious clients such as the Élysée Palace, the French Foreign Ministry and the Saudi royal family. Boyer is known for his minimalist, modern style, using materials such as metal, glass and leather. His creations are often considered functional works of art, combining aesthetics and practicality. Over the course of his career, Michel Boyer has won numerous awards and distinctions, including the René Gabriel prize from the City of Paris in 1968, the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs prize in 1976 and the gold medal from the Académie d'Architecture in 1993. His creations are also exhibited in museums such as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
