Over the course of his career, Bjorklund has designed numerous products for companies all over the world, including electronics, household appliances and furniture. He is best known for his work with Japanese company Sony, for whom he designed the famous Sony TC-D5 Pro II hi-fi system in 1982. This system won the Consumer Electronics Association's Innovation Award and has become a collector's item for audiophiles worldwide. In addition to his design work for companies, Bjorklund also taught industrial design at Lund University for several years. He was a member of the Association of Swedish Designers and received numerous awards for his designs, including the Industrial Design Award from the Swedish Foundation for the Promotion of Design in 1983. Tord Bjorklund passed away in 2014, but his legacy as an innovative and influential industrial designer continues to inspire many designers around the world.
