Product description
Waterfall table made from one of the most unique pieces of grafted elm wood. Read below to find out what a grafted elm is!
This waterfall table is special on all fronts. The wood comes from a grafted native elm from a park in The Hague. Grafting at a young age has created particularly beautiful drawings in the elm wood. The age of this special tree is not exactly known, but is estimated to be 100-120 years old.
Another special aspect of the table is that it is made of a board with a natural edge around it. The plank is glued at a 45-degree angle, so the wood grain continues into the leg. This way is called "waterfall table.
The glass leg of 10 mm thick tempered glass makes the table appear to float.
Silk gloss PU lacquer has been chosen for the finish of the waterfall table. This is a real eye-catcher for your home, and this table is definitely worth seeing in real life (do make an appointment first).
What is a grafted elm? A grafted elm is an elm tree in which a small piece of another elm tree is added to obtain certain good qualities, such as better growth or resistance to elm diseases. This is done by placing a branch or bud of the desired elm species on another elm.
See photos of the grafted trunk and sawn boards where the scion can be clearly seen. This type of native elm is very rare
