MAARTEN VAN SEVEREN MVS Chaise Vitra 1999 Maarten Van Severen studied architecture at the Art Academy in Ghent. As a designer, he devoted himself to exploring basic furniture types: chair, table, chaise longue, shelving, closet. Van Severen developed primary solutions for these categories based on extensive research into the questions of form, material and construction. The beginning of Van Severen's collaboration with Vitra gave him the opportunity to work with new materials. The MVS lounge chair is a design from 2000. The resilient material adapts to the shape of the body and is quite soft and pleasantly pliable. The versatile frame structure makes it easy for users to switch between a sitting and reclining position simply by shifting their weight. The chair is in excellent condition. It has been used only sporadically and is labeled at the bottom. The chair can be used indoors and outdoors.
