The EA aluminum chair
This collection is considered one of the groundbreaking design achievements of the 20th century. Charles and Ray Eames developed the aluminum chairs in 1958 for an art collector's private home in Columbus. Whether at home, in the office or in public spaces – the series offers models for a wide variety of occasions.
Charles and Ray Eames – A design duo
The Eames couple are among the outstanding personalities of design in the 20th century. In addition to their work as furniture designers, they also made films, took photographs and curated exhibitions. Vitra is the sole authorized manufacturer of Eames products for Europe and the Middle East.
Material and execution
The aluminum chair has a medium-high, padded backrest with a mesh back. The side profiles, clamps and four-star base are made of cast aluminum and are powder-coated in deep black.
