Vintage Longhi Elda Chair swivel chair by Joe Colombo
The legendary Space age design classic the 'Elda chair': a 1963 design by Joe Colombo. He had a short but very brilliant career.
The Elda is the first armchair with a fully self-supporting rotating fiberglass frame. Incredibly comfortable thanks to its 7 supportive cushions, rotating base and generous proportions. Named after Colombo's wife Elda. Joe Colombo was one of the most influential product designers in Italy. The Elda chair has also been featured in some world-famous films such as the 1977 James Bond film "The spy who loved me." In addition, the Longhi Elda Chair is part of the permanent collection of the Louvre in Paris, and the MoMA in New York.
