O-Space suspension lamp by Luca Nichetto for Foscarini - Italy - 2000
Sleek design, original shape, a shiny, sensual spaceship, a floating ellipse of light...
Excellent condition.
O Space is a flattened sphere, cut on two sides. It is soft and geometric at the same time, very original, the light is double, indirect and diffused on the sides spreading throughout the room and directional towards the bottom. The polyurethane slab protects against glare and conceals the cables, creating an entirely empty zone inside. Two stainless steel suspension cables and one transparent electric cable, a ceiling rose with galvanized metal support and polished chrome metal cover.
The diffuser consists of two high-density polyurethane foam hoops, glued together. The polished chromed metal lighting is housed on the lower slab, through a circular hole protected by a glass disk with frosted finish, directing a beam of light downwards.
O-Space is not a simple lamp, but an expression of modern design and refinement.
