For insiders, Anita Schmidt is synonymous with well-designed upholstered furniture. Numerous of her models are in production, although the path to getting there was not entirely straightforward. With a degree in philosophy and training in the furniture industry, she set up her own business in the early 1970s, specializing in soft seating culture.
Since 1982, Anita Schmidt has been working for Rolf Benz, for whom she has developed half a dozen models alone, making bold lines popular. The seat designer from Kraichgau also created the "designer sofa" par excellence, the 322 (1989) with its angled aluminum legs, which became a bestseller and classic.

naturally grained 38 quality thick leather, cowhide nappa leather, originally grown, unique in the pattern of pores, grains and surface structure, dyed through in the aniline barrel, lightly pigmented (semi-aniline), hard-wearing and yet soft and supple, high durability and value retention

The photos are high-exposure, so that the 1a condition is also visible in detail! Colors are generally brighter as a result. The shadow areas or the areas not directly illuminated by the photo light best reflect the natural color tones. Gloss on the photos or grayish or milky areas are also due to exposure or lighting (reflections). The surfaces are silk matt to silk gloss.

CONDITION:
The 322 is technically and visually in very good to mint condition. There are no defects! You won't find any of the typical scratches, marks, bumps etc. in the leather! Roughly speaking, the only difference to a new 322 is the slight creases in the seat, which are inherent in the design of comfortable leather upholstery (quote from Rolf Benz: "casual upholstery structure with the typical formation of waves"). The new owner can look forward to many years of use from this Rolf Benz design icon.

Important! For those who have been looking for a 322 for some time! Please do not compare this sofa with the price of the Rolf Benz sofas with artificial leather grain, e.g. the 322 advantage edition with the 60 entry-level leather or with the standard leather of the 34 or 36 group. This sofa here is in a completely different quality league!
