Product description
Teardrops of happiness - tears of happiness ...
Happiness, an emotion that takes your body off balance for a moment.
Abstract and sensually delineated.
A very fine sculpture in hardwood - Iroko wood from RDC (Congo).
Pure chiseling and sanding ...
Natural wax : 4x waxed.
3D finished, front and back.
Height : 103 cm - depth : 25 cm - width : 30 cm.
I consider myself a self-taught artist.
Notwithstanding (and with the most respect) my uncle taught me woodcarving and the passion for it in part
during my youth ('70-'80)
Then at the end of the last century followed the unique diptych of years of collaboration between the Congolese artist Mbungu (RDC) and myself as a non-professional sculptor.
The unfinished, rough, raw wood forms were further finished by me after at least 10 years of drying here. All the sculptures were chiseled and sanded by hand.
Not obvious because they are all made of hardwood, namely Wengé or Iroko.
Two very hard, bone-hard tropical woods with a great wood grain and patina.
